The Lord says to my Lord: 'Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.' The Lord will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying, 'Rule in the midst of Your enemies.' Your people will volunteer freely in the day of Your power; In holy array, from the womb of the dawn, Your youth are to You as the dew. Psalm 110:1-3 NASB

The purpose for children’s choir is to give kids an opportunity to learn how to glorify the Lord through music. This is done in two different ways, by teaching them about music and the intricacies of music and what it means to sing for the Lord and what it means to have their motivations be for the Lord (not for their family etc). Additionally, we want to be teaching them truths about God through the songs they sing. In the past years we have done a musical with the kids so they have an opportunity to do some acting and how to use those talents to honor the Lord, to get into characters and to express those characters in a way that glorifies the Lord.

The activities include a practice during the evening services on Sunday nights, starting at 5:45 until 7pm. Once a week practice during the school year and they typically sing either morning or evening service sporadically and also to participate in the Christmas program in Early December. There is usually one extra rehearsal before the Christmas program on a weekend. Helpers might require an extra 30 minutes per week to assist with planning. To sing in a choir, a child just needs to show up consistently for practice.

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 NASB

The purpose of AWANA clubs is to help parents as they raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. AWANA at Lakeside accomplishes this by teaching the gospel and its implications from the Bible and encouraging children to turn from their sin, trust in Christ for Salvation, memorize God's Word, and put it into practice.

AWANA Clubs are for kids ages 3 through 6th grade. We meet during the school year in the Lakeside Christian School (Gym and School Building) on Wednesday nights from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM. The time is broken down into 3 main activities: counsel time, handbook time and game time. During counsel time, leaders teach children God’s Word using curriculum from Children Desiring God ministries. During handbook time, clubbers recite memorized verses and complete sections in their AWANA handbooks. During game time, children enjoy playing a variety of team games and have occasional special activities.

If you are interested in helping with this ministry or signing up your child, you can contact Robert Fraire or Steve Edewaard through the church office at 727-441-1714. Leader applicants will need to complete some Children’s ministry paperwork which includes a background check.

We will not conceal them from their children, but tell to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wondrous works that He has done. For He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers that they should teach them to their children, that the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, that they may arise and tell them to their children, that they should put their confidence in God and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments, and not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not prepare its heart and whose spirit was not faithful to God. Psalm 78:4-8 NASB

The purpose of Children's Ministry is to help parents and as they raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Sunday School is by no means a replacement of what parents are doing at home. Our goal is to be a beneficial aid to parents as they carry out their God-given task. We join with parents in urging children to turn from their sin and trust in Christ and to follow Him obediently as their Lord and Savior.

Each age group has a song time, teaching time, and activity time. The activities vary from coloring to more elaborate crafts intended to focus on what students learned during the teaching time. For Pre-school to Kindergarten ages there is also snack time and playground time.

Opportunities for service include weekly commitments, monthly commitments, and commitments certain weeks each month. The time commitment for the 9am Sunday School hour is from 8:45am to 10:40am. The time commitment for the 10:40am service is from 10:20am to 12:15pm.

If you would like to serve, contact Jason Bruns at or Wes Andrews at or you may call the church office at 727-441-1714.
