Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated in Greek is called Dorcas); this woman was abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did. And it happened at that time that she fell sick and died; and when they had washed her body, they laid it in an upper room. Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him, imploring him, 'Do not delay in coming to us.' So Peter arose and went with them. When he arrived, they brought him into the upper room; and all the widows stood beside him, weeping and showing all the tunics and garments that Dorcas used to make while she was with them. Acts 9:36-39 NASB

The Dorcas ministry works to provide items for our missionaries. We have worked to provide items for our missionaries for the global outreach conference. When a missionary contacts Dorcas with a need that can be sewn, the group will see if they can provide it. We have created full sized quilts, blankets that have gone to China, tote bags that have gone to Honduras, and many more things.

We meet on 4th Tuesday of the month from August to May, except November. We get together from 10am until 2pm, but you can come when you can come for any or all of that time.

If you would like to help with the ministry, contact the church office and ask for Leanne Carmichael’s contact information.

And that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15 NASB

Insight for Women welcomes women from the community to study God’s Word and apply it to our lives.

We meet at the church weekly to study the Word is small groups. We also have group-wide fellowships, two bi-annual fellowship luncheons and two opening coffees. We currently have about 80 women involved, with 12 of those in leadership roles.

If you would like to join, you are invited to come on any Thursday morning and you will be placed in a small group. We meet from 9:30AM- 11:00AM every Thursday. There is also home study-work that will usually take an hour and a half to two hours a week to complete. We welcome anyone who is able to come for as long as they are able to participate.

If you would like more information you may contact the church office or contact Michele Kreloff or Trish Knox.
